Glogster

Who can use it?

Glogster is a great tool that students and teachers can use in the classroom. But anyone can use this tool to create a poster.



What is it?

Glogster is an interactive poster that you can design and create yourself. The user can add text, graphics, pictures, music, and videos. You can also create your own background. There are different themed areas to choose from for each of the elements you choose to include in your glog.



Why should it be used?

You should use glogster to express your ideas in a new and creative way. By making an interactive poster it really brings in your audience. You can add a lot more to a glog than a regular poster that you would make on paper. Some of the major differences are that you can include links, videos, and music to a glog. This helps with the presentation of your topic and makes it even more interesting and exciting.



How do you use it?



First thing you have to do is create an account by going to either glogster.com or glogster.edu.

Once you have set up your account you can click a create a new glog.



To delete something you all you have to do is click on the image and then click on the pink trash can.



To change your background you click on wall in the toolbar that is on the screen. Then you can search the gallery, add your own picture and make it a solid color.

• Within the gallery there are several different genres which you can choose from. Once you decide click on the one you want and then click use it.


• For a solid color, choose the color you like and then click use it.


• To make a picture your background you first have to upload the picture. Once it is uploaded then you have to decide how you would like it aligned; tile, normal, stretch, or stretch and fill.

To add graphics you click on graphic in the toolbar. Then you can choose from all the graphics they have in the different genres. Once you find one you like click on it and then click use it.



To add text you click on text in the toolbar. Then you can choose what kind of text box you would like. You can choose from bubbles, stickers, and titles. Then you can choose the genre you want. Once you find the one you like click use it.



To type in the text box you have to click on the text box and then click edit. In edit mode you can also click on the colored grid icon and that will color the background of the text box. The AB1 icon will adjust your text. This includes font, alignment, color, size, bold, and italics. Click apply when you are happy with the results. The fx icon will add effects to your text box click on what you like and then click apply. The two rings icon is where you can add a link. Just paste your link into the box and click apply. When you are finished with the text box click the pink OK.



To add images you click on images in the toolbar. You have to upload your images. Once you have uploaded an image you can add a frame.

To add a frame click on the image and then click add frame. Choose from an assortment of frames in each of the genres. Click use it when you have found one that you like.



To add a video you click on video in the toolbar. You can search for a video in SchoolTube or upload you own video.

To add a player to your video click on add a player. Search through the different genres to find one that will go well with your video and then click use it.



To add sound you click on sound in the toolbar. You can upload your own sounds and music. You can also use the grab icon and record your own sounds.

To add a player for you sounds click add a player, choose one, and the click use it.



To move the toolbar click and hold where it says magnet tool and you will be able to move it up or down.



To hide the toolbar click on the pink arrow. Click on the pink arrow again when you want it to reappear.



To move something click on the item and drag it to where you want it.



To adjust the size of something just click on the item and use the corner arrows to make it bigger or smaller.



To tilt something click on the side arrows.



To bring something forward click on the item and then click on the small white box in the toolbar the pops up.



To put something behind click on the image and then click on the two small white boxes with the two small gray boxes in the toolbar that pops up.



To clone something click on th image and then click on the two white boxes in the toolbar that pops up.



To cancel your changes to an item click on the white arrow in the toolbar that pops up.



To preview what you have done go to the top and in pink there is a preview button.



To save your work click save and publish. Type in a name for your glog and choose a category. Then choose public or private and click save and publish or save depending on which you choose.
